Mr Umar Muhammed, a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Kogi State, on Thursday expressed confidence that his party would win all the assembly seats in Saturday’s election.
Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at Government House, Lokoja, Muhammed said:“We have put our house in order and we are fully prepared to win all the assembly seats in Saturday’s election.”
Muhammed, who was the former Legal Adviser to the party in the state, said that what happened in the Presidential election would not repeat itself in the state.
He said that Kogi electorate had been mobilised to vote for PDP, urging the party’s supporters not to despair.
He said that the use of the card reader was welcome by the party as it would give credibility to the elections.
He, however, urged INEC to effect the needed adjustments on the device in order to make it work effectively on Saturday.
The PDP chieftain thanked the state electorate and urged them to turn out en masse for the Saturday polls.
He also advised the electorate to be law abiding during the election, adding that Nigerians must do their best to protect the nation’s democracy. (NAN)
