A former chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Zaphaniah Bitrus Jisalo, has congratulated Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on his emergence as presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, Jisalo said the former Governor of Lagos state’s emergence signals the dawn of a new era in the nation’s politics and governance.
He said Tinubu’s victory at the APC special convention aptly provided answers to those who doubt is democratic credentials.
“On behalf of the FCT Tinubu Support Group (TSG), I, Hon Zaphaniah Bitrus Jisalo want to congratulate you for your hard earned victory. Indeed it is a new page in the annals of our country. We believe you will fight the symmetric and asymmetric battle of our country.
“In Lagos state, you gave our people a new hope, a new vista of life, a leadership they can trust and above all you assembled the best talents to head various governmental department that solves the urban development needs of a mega city like Lagos. So we totally believe you will replicate that in the whole of the country.
“The Japanese says, good thinking, good product, but in our case, astute leadership, development in all its ramification. In you, we believe we will have a new type of politics, an economic policy that will consider the masses, the pillars and the basics of government. The economic policy will consider giving palliatives for growth rather than bitter pills to swallow that is the leader Nigeria need now.
“The problem of our country is leadership and our people recognize a good leader when the see one so perfectly our leadership recruitment method has matured and we have seen in you that leadership qualities that will spur our country into development in all its physicality.
“To those who doubt your democratic credentials. Your victory is an answer to their questions. We enjoin all Nigeria to join hand with you to build a virile country nurtured by truth, capable leadership, peace and justice,” the statement said.
