Apparently piqued by the wrangling in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which is threatening to tear the party apart in Kogi State, a former acting governor of the state, Mr. Clarence Olafemi, has taken the bull by the horns to reconcile all warring factions.
He said the fate of the APC in the next elections would be in jeopardy if the crisis is allowed to lead to implosion. To start with, he said he met with the National chairman of the party John Oyegun who gave him his blessing.
Hence he said he had kick started the task of meeting the different factions who have been at each others jugular over who controls the fortunes of the party to ensure an amicable resolution before a permanent damage is inflicted on the party.
According to him, to succeed in the onerous task he decided to first reconcile with James Faleke with whom he had fallen out of favor. Faleke felt betrayed by the party when as running mate to the late Audu he was not considered as replacement for his principal hence he explored all legal means to get the reclaim mandate but failed finally at the Supreme Court.
According to him the three major camps in the crisis were Yahaya Bello’s camp, Dino Melaye Camp and the James Faleke camp but all are disposed to reconciliation.
