The leadership of Nigeria Liberation Association (NLA) has called on Nigerians play active roles in election processes and governance.
A state coordinator of NLA, Comrade Sadiq Abubakar Jikta made this call at the stakeholder meeting of the Association in Abuja.
According to Jikta, the NLA is in the process of becoming a virile political party in Nigeria. Once the association gets registered it will become Nigeria Liberation Party (NLP).
“Nigerians have been taken for granted for too long and the time to take our destinies in our hands is now.
“We cannot continue to see careless display of incompetence in governance as there is nothing dangerous like people who are hopeless,” he said.
He noted that the notion that one should stay silent or do nothing in the face of such erratic behaviour is over.
“We should stop pretending that politics is normal. There is an open display of reckless, outrageous and undignified behaviour in governance.
“We have failed ourselves for too long and the time to stand up for our country is now,” he added.
At the meeting, the NLP inaugurated her national interim executives, Board of Trustee and the states interim Excos. Delegates from 33 out of 36 states plus the Federal Capital Territory were in attendance at the meeting.
