There are moments when the truth becomes apparently inevitable. That moment is now. We either embrace it or forever live as prey to the looters of our common patrimony. It’s not cynical, Kogites are in big trouble, and with the contemporary political facet, whoever does not perceive the impending danger needs a quick brain test.

I will go to the central thrust, the gigantic aspirants populating our polity are seemingly problematic. Why? They would for sure confounds the taxonomy of the best hand to succeed the topsy-turvy and pig-headed failure- Yahaya Bello. Not when the sphere is emaciated by money bag and aspirants pose with enough in the tank, and not when hopelessness bedeviled the scenery together with greed. I am tempted to say if due care is not adhered to, we will end up in the pool of same tragic mistakes once more. But the song then will be like that of a man hoodwinked twice. Because, at first, we were certain of whom we entrusted our mandate and how it was later upturned and circumnavigated to the current anarchy. But this time, hopelessness and greed may lead us to saddle yet another despot even with our eyes opened.

This is what birthed my post, not every aspirant parading the landscape is the right option, just as the beautiful image and the well punched English grammar transmogrified into mantra sometimes cannot put to the foray the true political identity of an aspirant. Needless to say that whatever decision we take now stands for another four years. Hence, what is required is a unified house, mission, and goal. More indently, PDP, for instance, should put its house in order. That way, the mission of reclaiming Kogi as ‘PDP state’ and goal of removing the anti-democrat is possible.

First, the Party should distance itself from been enmeshed or intimidated by the desperate aspirants by ensuring credibility and fairness to define its dealings. Moreover, a candidate to be fielded should conform to the extant interest of the generality and not as some deemed fit. It is one thing to reclaim the state, it’s another thing to hold sway. The party must reckon with the fact that it’s coming to change the current narrative and fizz out the 16-years old notion, hence, a proficient but confront-able hand.

Let Dr. Victor Alewo Adoji lead in the race that would not only redeem the seemingly lost PDP’s integrity as true democrats but would leave behind a lasting legacy and put in the mind of Kogites the true leaders between the ruling and the opposition. Let Adoji lead in the battle to rejuvenate the economic and political glory of our land. Let Adoji lead in our desperate quest to restore the lost peace. Let Adoji lead in the mission to free Kogites from the lawlessness and inordinate ambitions. Let Adoji lead the mission to free Kogites from the modern-day slavery. Let Adoji lead the prayers that would see to the exit of democratic rapists, pretender-democrats, buccaneer, anti-people and peace, politically dysfunctional in cahoots with sheer cluelessness, gross incompetence, sycophancy and mediocrity that had traded off meritocracy in our land.

Without being sarcastic, unless we want to induct the politics of old norms (where a public office holder serves only cronies), Adoji is the best hand. His mandate is clear and new, his reasons are cogent and the time is right. He is also young, intelligent and predisposed economically. Unless we want to settle for political dynasties through which gamblers had defrauded us, Adoji is the only option. If we still advocate emotionally unstable and truly incompetent aspirants (those whose wrath knows no bound) who will deny our civil servants the sense of belonging, choose sycophancy over good governance, and live opulently while the people languish I recline, but if all we need is a workable ground, a co-existing atmosphere, and a peaceful Kogi state, Adoji is the option.

Unless we choose to believe those who claimed they gave LGs full autonomy whereas, the grassroots under their watch was a crying shame, unless we prefer Impecuniousness while those who had ruled us previous (and are hoping), leveraged on a chronological paper works but truly non-existed pipe water, road construction, etc. to defraud us of our common patrimony, Adoji is the trusted hand.

Unless we gullibly follow those who see Kogi polity as their inheritance and private entities, hence, in the figment of imaginations believe they are unrestrained, Adoji is the voice we need. Even some aspirants who indirectly bear the grunting acronym of not paying workers on time and were so prompt in picking nomination form, in proper scrutiny, they are not eligible to be LG chairmen let alone a state governor.

I believe in a transparent, accountable, enterprising and people-oriented government. I believe in innovation, a technocratic given economic solution that works. And I believe in a government sourcing mechanisms of achievement via the numerously endowed natural resources. And just in case you do, Adoji is the best mouth-piece.

My findings from the last election show Dr. Victor Alewo Adoji could not tour every nooks and cranny of the 9 LGs in Kogi East. But there was virtually no community, village or town in the zone where he is not been sought for in the senate- one cogent reason I was sure he actually won the senatorial race. People were talking about him. In fact, Kogi Easterners trooped out and were taking responsibility voluntarily. This is unprecedented politically and it’s a clear instance of grassroots oriented politics which of course is what we seek.

Beyond greed and self-conceit, sentiment, party supremacy, and every affiliation. Adoji’s candidature is outstanding. As a matter of fact, Dr. Victor Alewo Adoji is unequivocally a household name, PDP should take note because Kogites already knows about it.

We will meet again.
