Wada Wins Award as Best Performing Gov on Immunization in North Central

Governor Idris Wada has won immunization leadership challenge/ Bill and Melinda Gates award for the best performing governor on immunization in the North-central zone.

Presenting the award to Governor Idris Wada in Lokoja,  the Minister of State for Health, Dr Mohammed Ali Pate, described the award as a clear indication of an effective primary health care service in Kogi State.

The minister who was represented by the Executive Director, National Health Care Development Agency, Dr Ado Mohammed, said the Federal Government is committed towards ensuring that the lives of children and mothers are protected from preventable diseases.

He added that the government has established the midwife service scheme and deployed 138 midwives to the state.
Responding, Governor Wada described the award as a wake-up call for the administration to intensify efforts in keeping the state polio free.
