The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta, has re-assigned Alhaji Jibrin Isah Echocho’s suit to Justice Abdul Kafarati.

The suit was instituted by the winner of the January 9, 2011 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary in Kogi State, Alhaji Jibrin Isah Echocho, seeking to reclaim the governorship seat from incumbent Governor Idris Wada.

This came as Echocho, in a statement in Abuja, on Wednesday, said it was wrong for Wada to assume that the case would go his way because it was similar to the Bayelsa’s case, which went against former governor, Chief Timpriye Sylva, who, like him, won the initial primary of the PDP in the state.

Echocho said while Bayelsa’s case was a pre-primary matter, Kogi’s was a pre-election matter.

The statement, signed by the director, public communications and strategy, Jibrin Isah Campaign Organisation, Mr Phrank Shaibu, said “it is a pity that the Wada/Awoniyi campaign organisation has, in the last couple of days, inundated the media with prejudicial comments on what the outcome of the Kogi governorship case that is before a court of competent jurisdiction would be.”

The suit was initially assigned to Justice Donal-tus Okorowo, but was withdrawn due to allegation of bias leveled against the judge by the governor.
