The Kogi State governor, Captain Idris Wada has assured the people of Adumwewe communities in Bassa local government area of the state that he would reconstruct the Emigumi-Adumwewe-Abocho road linking the communities with the outside world.
Governor Wada made the promise when the people of the communities paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Lokoja yesterday.
The governor stressed that his administration is ready to address the problems facing the communities.
He urged the people to be proactive in view of the warnings by Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NIMET) that there may be flooding this year.
Wada promised to sustain agricultural development to ensure food security in the state adding that the state has large arable land and solid minerals that could turn around the fortunes of the people.
He noted that agricultural development will provide employment for the youths since white collar jobs were not in existence and urged the youths to embrace farming as a means of livelihood.
Earlier in his speech, the national president of Adum Wewo Development Association in Bassa local government area, Mr Julius Elukpo told the governor that the purpose of their visit to Government House was to identify with his administration and also to wish him quick recovery from the recent car accident.
