The Kogi State Governor, Captain Idris Wada, today presented a budget proposal of N130,996,844,415 to the state House of Assembly.
In his speech, Capt Wada assured that in the 2013 fiscal year, the State Government will rekindle the hope of the people through wealth creation, poverty reduction, employment generation and ensuring peace, fairness, transparency and accountability in the governance of the state.
He said the 2013 budget, tagged Budget of Transformation, is aimed at meeting the yearnings and aspirations of the people, anchored on our determined vision to strategically re-position Kogi State and transform it into a top ranking state in Nigeria in no distance future.
Wada presents a balanced budget proposal of N130,996,844,415 for 2013 which is 3.5% higher than 2012.
N65,595,793,246 will be spent on recurrent services, while N65,401,051,169 will be expended on capital programmes and projects.
