Wada Mourns Solomon Lar

As the nation continue to mourn the passing away of Chief Solomon Daushep Lar, the Kogi State Governor, Capt. Idris Wada, and the entire people of the State, said they received the news of the demise of the former civilian Governor with great sadness.

In a statement signed by Yomi Awoniyi Kogi State Deputy Governor, described the exit of the pioneer Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, as one that has once again depleted the ranks of the very small group of outstanding statesmen who have contributed immensely to nurturing Nigeria to the enviable heights it has attained today.

Capt Wada described late Chief Solomon lar as a peace maker said he stamped his indelible imprints on the political landscape in Nigeria.

The statement reads in parts “It is on record that Chief Lar was a leading light in the G-34 which spearheaded the formation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 1998.

The statement further said it was In recognition of his exceptional organizational and leadership skills, selflessness and patriotism, that made him to be saddled with the responsibility of piloting the affairs of the fledgling party as its pioneer chairman.”

Capt Wada noted that the sheer size, reach and monumental success of the party today is an eloquent testimony of the success of his tenure and the solid foundation he laid.

Capt Wada described the late elder statesman as a man who displayed exceptional leadership qualities throughout the half a century he was in active party politics.

The statement disclosed that as the nation mourn his passage, the Governor and people of Kogi State expresses their sincere condolence to his biological family, his political family and the entire people of Nigeria and prayed that the Almighty God will grant him eternal rest.
