Wada Has Placed Kogi on The Frontline in Agriculture – Kogi AFAN Chairman

Kogi State Governor, Capt. Idris Wada’s Agricultural Transformation has been described as the major fulcrum that will drive the industrial development of the State.

The Chairman of All Farmers Association of Nigeria, Comrade Adams Aduojo who made this known in a chat with newsmen, said tractors purchased, training of youths and well as funds made available by the State Government to farmers in State is laudable.

He explained that the State Government is resolute to tap into the Federal Government Agenda for rice farming, as 10,000 hectares of land was cleared and used for rice farming in the past year, adding that Wada’s farming Agenda for 2014 will not just blow the mind Kogites but Nigerians at large.

According to him, the concentration and government resolve to place Agriculture on the front burning in its activities has become so essential to ensure that farmers affected by flood in the state will gains much.

Similarly, the seriousness of Wada to invest in Agriculture, is part of a desire to tap into the abundance arable land, water and human resources the State is blessed with, he added.

“Through the support of the Korean Government, the State has established Rice Mills, while an approval for the purchase and erection of four Cassava Mills as a pilot scheme to assist in processing the expected bumper harvest in rice and cassava by the State”

Aduojo stressed that Wada Government has equally tranied over 160 youths on Cassava processing through it Agricultural transformation agenda with the aim of establish small scale entrepreneure.

Wada he noted has make Kogi a State that occupies the front position in rice, cassava, and cashew production.

“Wada’s government since assumption in office have work consciously towards addressing and arresting the growing youths unemployment in the state and to harness the potentials of its youths using Agriculture”

He called all the farmers in state to put into use Government provision in different areas for the farmers.
