Wada Flags-off 1Billion Naira Road Projects

Governor Idris Wada of Kogi state has assured the people of the state of his commitment to bringing development to the rural populace, saying that his administration would make judicious use of resource accruing to the state to meet their needs.The Governor who gave this assurance while flagging off 1Billion Naira road projects in the Kogi East Senatorial district of the state, assured that he was committed to even development of all parts of the state.

The roads are Okura township road in Dekina local government area of the state at the cost of N263 Million naira and Ojoku-Odagbe-Otukpa junction road in Ankpa local government at the cost of N713 Million naira

According to the governor, the construction work on the roads has already commenced, saying that the roads are expected to be completed in four months.

He said the road projects were awarded in 2010, noting that the contractors have been adequately mobilized to enable them commence work.

He assured that their balance will be paid to the contractors without any delay once the project is completed and satisfied by the government.

He called on the people to be law abiding, saying that development can only thrive in a peaceful and orderly environment.

In Ankpa local government council where construction work has also commenced on Ojoku-Okaba-Odagba-Otukpa junction road witnessed a large turn out of people to witness the historic formal flagging off.

Wada stressed that when construction work on the roads are completed, it will assist in moving coal from Okaba mines and also improve the economy of the people.

The governor called on the contractors to complete the projects on schedule as agreed, saying that government will not condone unnecessary delay by contractors.

Captain Wada who also commissioned electricity project at Akatapia in Ankpa local government council, used the opportunity to inspect Ogane-Aji erosion control at Anyigba where efforts are on going on to control the erosion.
