The present administration in Kogi State says it has witnessed great challenges within the last one year, but said God has been their help in making it to record the Modest achievements and to meet the yearning and aspiration of the people.
Capt Idris Wada Kogi State Governor, acknowledged the challenge faced by the administration at an interdenominational service held to mark it first anniversary in office.
Represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi said reflecting on the Physical, Legal, Social and Security challenges the administration witnessed, said it is of the Lord’s mercies that the administration was not consumed.
The Governor solicited the support of people of the State in ensuring that the administration achieved its set objectives.
The Governor who admitted that most of the challenging problems the administration faced pre-dates the present administration, disclosed that his administration is however determined to address those issues squarely and consistently.
Capt Wada called for continuous prayers and contributions of people to the success of his administration,demanded for all hands to be on deck to enable the physical transformation of all the plans and programmes of the administration that is at incubation stage.
The Governor who stated that his administration was not elected for excuses as it is poise to meet its promises made to the people,said rather than condemnation, solicited for the peoples understanding and patience.
In his sermon, Most Rev. Bishop Emmanuel Egbunu, State Chairman CAN, said the challenges the state passed through within the last one year, was aimed at challenging the leaders to prove their mettle.
Bishop Egbunu called on the present administration to among other expectations from the people strive to provide quality education adding that government should rehabilitate and returnĀ mission schools to their owners.
The CAN chairman appealed for the transformation of the landscape of the state, urged the administration to work towards the welfare of the citizens by bringing democracy dividends to their door steps.
The Clergyman called on those presently at the helm of affairs in the state not to forget but revered the name of the Lord for the state to make the desired progress.
Highlight of the interdenominational service was prayers for the quick recovery of the State Governor, appointed and elected leaders and for the success of the present administration.
