Over 3,800 farmers across the 21 Local Government Councils in Kogi state are to benefit from the agric loan granted to farmers by the Kogi State government in collaboration with Bank of Agriculture.
The Kogi State governor, Captain Idris Wada while flagging-off the disbursement of N750 Million Loan to Kogi farmers on Monday at Lugard House, Lokoja noted that the loan will assist farmers in the state to enhance food stability.
Captain Wada urged beneficiaries of the agriculture loan not to abuse the facility as he assured the farmers that the facility will reach those who are yet to benefit as the project is in phases.
Earlier, the Commissioner of Agriculture, Kogi State ministry of Agriculture, Hon. Zaccheaus Oluwagbotemi Atte in his speech noted that 3,800 farmers cutting across the 21 LGAs will benefit from this phase of the agricultural loan scheme.
Atte urged the beneficiaries to make proper use of the loan and adequately make repayments as at when due. He noted that the loan is to assist the farmers to contribute their quota to food sufficiency in the state and the nation at large.
The commissioner commended the governor for his untiring efforts in making agriculture the mainstay of our economy in the state. He further commended the Bank of Agriculture for the collaboration and all stakeholders involved, for the efforts in making this project a huge success.
