Voice Of Mopamuro Youths (VOMY) is using this opportunity to congratulate you and welcome you back from the long vacation/recess.

Distinguished greetings to you, Honourable (Elder) Leke Joseph Abejide.

We would have loved to send this request to the mail you provided to the public domain, but it is necessary to appreciate you in the face of the whole world for making Yagba Federal Constituency (YFC) have hope in your representation by coming to the public to ascertain your resolve for a purposeful representation and legislation.

On behalf of the whole of Yagba Land, Voice Of Mopamuro Youths (VOMY) is saying THANK YOU for your readiness to work with the State Governor and other Legislators elected across party lines, having parts/whole of Yagba as their jurisdiction for the development of our land. You are dear to our heart for saying; “…because we are not representing a party colouration, but the people”.

We equally appreciate the fact that you identify lack of potable water as part of our main challenges in Yagba Land, the suffering of our people as regards is endless despite efforts of some of our former representatives and highly placed persons in facilitating, financing and sponsoring borehole facilities. Thanks for your plans to bring back life to our land, as we all know WATER IS LIFE!

In bringing a lasting solution to this water scarcity, VOMY is strongly suggesting that Mopa Water Works (MWW) be revived and expanded.
In the 80s when the water facility was constructed, it served entire Mopamuro Local Government and water is served to the communities at intervals of three days.

If the facility can serve the whole of Mopamuro when it was working at full capacity, we believe if it is expanded, it will serve in better capacity the whole of Mopamuro and parts of Yagba East Local Government.

It is a good news that Isanlu Water Works was recently revived under the incumbent administration of Governor Yahaya Bello, facilitated and financed by the Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Asiwaju Asiru Idris.

The Iwele Water Works in Egbe of Yagba West Local Government is also crying for renovation and expansion for wider reach and service.

In same vein, we are calling your attention to the possibility of Omi Dam to serve the whole of Yagba/Okun Land and beyond potable water, if necessary facilities are put in place to save, treat and pump out the water.

Working with the suggestions above and having all the mentioned facilities functional at 100%, Yagba will say farewell to water scarcity, employment will also be created for a handful of our citizens.

We are not also oblivion of the fact that these facilities went into moribund largely due to lack of maintenance and negligence, it is in this light that we suggest that an affordable rate for maintenance be charged as Water Bill.

This rate is to generate revenue for the Government, maintain the facility and also make the people guide it jealously.

All of these we have suggested in good faith, hoping you will consider them for the good of our land.

We will not cease to bring up more suggestions, commend and criticise you as the need arise.

Thank you for every other promises, we are going to work with you for their safe delivery, in assurance of maximum benefit for our people.

God Bless Yagba Land!

Signed:
Julius Olushola Abel
Leader, VOMY.
