Vigilante Apprehends Suspected Motorcycle Snatcher in Kogi Community

Operatives of the Kogi State Vigilante Service, Kogi LGA Command, have apprehended a suspected criminal who allegedly specializes in snatching motorcycles.

In a statement signed by Head of ICT/Media Unit, Office of the Comptroller-General, S.O. Saka, the suspect, Bello Marwanu Abubakar, was nabbed by vigilante operatives on Friday in Ganuma Community of Kogi local government area.

Saka said the arrest followed an incident that occurred on 12 June 2025 at about 2300hrs, where the suspect allegedly forcefully snatched a motorcycle from one John Adamu.

“Reports indicate that the suspect attempted to kill the victim by striking him on the head with a hard object. The victim was subsequently rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

“All recovered items, along with the suspect, have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Koton-Karfe Division for further investigation and appropriate legal action,” he said.

The Kogi State Vigilante Service reiterated its unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property across the state.
