Agriculture experts from Vietnam will train kogi farmers on new rice farming technology so as to improve their yield, Professor Vo Tom Xuan who led a team of expert from Vietnam to kogi state, stated this while inspecting the accelerated rice farm project in the state.
Professor Xuan said his coming to African was to help the farmers in rice production by training them on new farming system for better yield.
He said the training would be in two phases, saying that the first phase would be how to select the rice variety and fertilizer as well as water source while the second phase would train the people on planting methods.
He however solicited the support of the farmers as well as the core staff of the state ministry of Agriculture for the success of the project, saying that Kogi state has advantage of the land and river that would guarantee good yield.
Also speaking, Governor Idris Wada assured the team of the state’s support in its efforts to become the highest rice producing state in the country.
