Vice President Kashim Shettima, on Monday, commissioned three roads and several other projects completed by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to commemorate his first year in office as governor of Kogi state.
Shettima, who represented President Bola Tinubu, arrived in Kogi State through Dangote Airstrip in Obajana around noon. He was accompanied by All Progressive Congress (APC) National Chairman, Dr. Umar Ganduje, and Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo.
The delegation received a warm welcome from Governor Ododo, his deputy Joel Oyibo, former governors Yahaya Bello and Idris Wada, as well as commissioners and other government officials.

The Vice President commissioned the 9-kilometer Zone 8-Zango Daji-Kaduna Junction road and the 5.5-kilometer Zone 8-Crusher road.

Other completed projects commissioned include a 350-bed hostel for male and female students at the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) Osara, a demonstration farm, two faculty buildings at the university, and several Primary Health Centres.
Speaking during the event, Governor Ododo emphasized that these projects reflect his commitment to improving the welfare of Kogi State residents.
He noted that the developments, spread across the state’s three senatorial districts, were part of his campaign promises to serve as the chief servant of the people.
The governor also expressed gratitude to his predecessor for establishing a strong foundation for the state’s growth and progress.
Immediately after commissioning the projects the Vice president and his entourage were moved to the Government House, where they had some private chats with stakeholders in the state.

Shettima participated in a town hall meeting at Muhammadu Buhari Square in Lokoja, where he engaged directly with stakeholders and residents of the state. The meeting provided a platform for Governor Ododo to present the achievements of his administration over the past year, including advancements in infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
