US Firm to Build Oil Refinery in Kogi

Kogi State government is to partner a US-based company, Global Investment Project, towards the establishment of oil refinery and revitalization of the state’s moribund mass transit company.

The collaborative venture which would be facilitated by Montevetro Energy Nigeria Limited, is geared towards the realization of the transportation agenda of Governor Idris Wada for the state.

Governor Wada  gave the indication yesterday in Lokoja when the President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Investment Project, Mr. Steve Ajayi paid him a courtesy visit.

The governor said with the abundant solid minerals in the state, his administration will continue to create an enabling environment for investors to come and tap the resources.

He also promised to provide 100 hectares of land for the Global Investments Project to build the proposed refinery in the state, saying that the state is peaceful and secure for investors.

On the revitalization of the state mass transit company, the governor said  a committee would be set up by his administration to work with the company on how best to revitalize it.
