Miss Victoria Oluwatosin Toluwaloju, a Mass Communication graduate from the University of Benin, has been honoured by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Kogi State, as an Outstanding Corps Member for the 2024/2025 service year. Her recognition comes as a result of her dedication, remarkable contributions in community development, educational advocacy, and youth empowerment during her one-year mandatory service.
At the Passing Out Parade (POP) ceremony for Batch B Stream 1 in Lokoja, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Femi Osungbohun, commended Miss Toluwaloju for her discipline, vision, and unwavering commitment to service.
He described her as a shining example of what NYSC stands for, leadership, impact, and transformation in line with its motto, “Service and Humility.”

One of her standout initiatives was a menstrual hygiene campaign, through which she empowered over 800 girls across five secondary schools in Lokoja. The project provided free sanitary pads and sensitized young girls on proper menstrual health management.

In addition to her humanitarian work, Miss Toluwaloju held several leadership positions during her service year. She served as Editor-in-Chief of the Orientation Broadcast Service, Production Editor, and Deputy Corps Editor in the Editorial and Publicity CDS group, playing a key role in information dissemination and corps member engagement.
Reacting to the award, Miss Toluwaloju expressed gratitude to God, her parents, and the NYSC for their support throughout her journey.
“This award is not just a personal win; it’s a call to do more. My NYSC experience has been transformative and has stretched me in so many ways,” she said.
She also pioneered the Future Forward Project, a critical thinking and leadership development initiative across six public secondary schools in Lokoja. The project featured engaging sessions with students, culminating in a grand debate and youth seminar that encouraged bold thinking and responsibility among young people.
Looking ahead, Miss Toluwaloju expressed her passion for entering the development space as a communications professional and her desire to pursue further academic opportunities, trusting God to lead her in the next phase of her life.
