For their unwavering supports and loyalty during his election and its accompanied court cases, the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Yakubu Oseni has rewarded forty of his constituents.
Senator Oseni who, on Tuesday, met with the 40 constituents in Okene for special meeting, said he was awestruck with the zeal with which they remain steadfast in their belief for his political aspiration even in the face of constant intimidation and harassment.
“These people did not only defend their votes at the grassroots but stood firmly to defend the mandate given to me when they were invited to the court as witnesses in Abuja.
“Amidst wanton harassment, intimidation and threat to their lives from the oppositions, they refused to be bought over with outrageous amount of money offered by the ever determined oppositions,” the lawmaker said.
Senator Oseni, who requested the curriculum vitae (CV) of the said constituents for possible placement in Federal Government agencies, gave them the sum of four million naira being a token and a show of appreciation.
He further charged them to be more committed in whatever craft they are engaged in for the meantime.
“This token is small, but I believe it will go a long way if you inject it properly into a business or if possible, your wife’s business.”
He also asked those who are artisans among them to make their handiworks known to his aides so as to patronise them in some of his constituency projects, just as he assured them of more projects in Kogi Central Senatorial district.
Some of the beneficiaries of Senator Oseni’s benevolent gesture who were overwhelmed with joy said he is definitely doing better than what was promised.
