Two persons have been killed and another two injured in a brutal clash among butchers in Anyigba, Dekina local government area of Kogi State.
The clash started during an election being conducted to fill the chairmanship position of the butchers’ association in the area. Fight broke out among supporters of the contenders leading to death of two members.
In a swift reaction, the Chief Administrator of Dekina local government, Kabiru Idris, directed that all union activities be suspended across Anyigba and environs.
When contacted, the Kogi Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Williams Aya, confirmed the incident and said some arrests had been made.
