A day after the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) bemoaned the non-implementation of the N30,000 new minimum wage by Kogi state government, the state chapter of Trade Union Congress (TUC) has also condemned the delay.

Speaking after the state administrative council meeting in Lokoja on Thursday, the state chairman of TUC, Comrade Ranti Ojo, lamented that the poor living conditions of workers in the state owing to the current inflation trend in the country which has depleted the 18,000 minimum wage the government pays to its workers.

Ojo also faulted the committee set up by the government, which had failed to submit its report two years after it was set up by Governor Yahaya Bello.

He called on the Governor to prevail on the committee to submit their report for onward implementation adding that, there is a need for the government to look into the welfare of workers such as promotion implementation, annual increments in a bid to raise the living standard of workers in Kogi State.
