Troops Overrun Notorious Bandit’s Camp, Rescue Sixteen Kidnap Victims in Kogi

Camp of a notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Battijo, located within the Tunga Forest in Kogi state, has been overrun and taken over by security forces

Kogi state government confirmed this development in a statement issued by the State Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, on Sunday.

Fanwo revealed that the ongoing operations have already recorded major breakthroughs, with sixteen kidnapped victims successfully rescued from the camp of a notorious bandit leader.

He noted that the bandits’ camp has been overrun and taken over by security forces, while intensive clearance operations continue across affected areas.

Reaffirming the administration’s position, the government reiterated its firm resolve not to negotiate with bandits or pay ransom under any circumstance, stressing that criminal elements will continue to be decisively confronted.

Kogi state government commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Mr. Oluwatosin Ajayi, and all heads of security agencies at both national and state levels for their unwavering support and the successes recorded so far.

Reaffirming the administration’s position, the government reiterated its firm resolve not to negotiate with bandits or pay ransom under any circumstance, stressing that criminal elements will continue to be decisively confronted.
