The Dead Do Not Die Twice! Adieu to Igala’s foremost electronics engineer, Yahaya Sule.
Like the saying goes, we will only live once but whoever lives right will live forever. Engr Yahaya Sule didn’t just lived his own life, but lived for the many he was father to, mentor of, guardian over and above all, source of inspiration.
If wisdom, knowledge, wealth or all put together could make anyone live for lifetime, many noble would have lived forever but the inevitability of death has made it a door every soul must walk through and after that, the dead either lives on, or get forgotten.
Engr Yahaya Sule’s death struck me with two pains – One is of my own emotions for a benefactor while the other is the vacuum his demise creates.
The deceased is although statutorily a father in-law to the Turaki of Ankpa, Prince Abubakar Sadiq Ahmed Yakubu, more of a direct father figure than the bond of marriage that brought them together.
On the second account, he was one of the foremost Igala to acquire sound western education overseas. He didn’t just traveled abroad, he studied in the renowned University of Plymouth, UK and was trained as an Electronics Engineer.
Been a nationalist, belonging to the generation of Nigeria that believes in Nigeria, builds Nigeria and serves Nigeria with pride, he worked with the Nigerian Television Authority for over thirty years during which he facilitated the employment of many sons and daughters of Igala land.
May almighty Allah grant you aljenatul firdaws, comfort all your bereaved… Allahuma agfirlena warhamni
