The Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police, Ephraim Amakulor, had on Wednesday, February 8 allegedly transferred 375 policewomen from Kwara State to Kogi State.
Husbands of the affected female cops have petitioned the acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar over the incidence which they described as ‘inconsiderate and abnormal’
The affected husbands said the 375 women are all married and some of the said women are pregnant. The list also included newly married and those who just put to bed. They feared the present action could lead to broken homes.
They recalled that female police officers were not posted away from their homes during the regime of IGPs like Tafa Balogun, Ehindero or Ringim, and asked why the unexpected was happening.
