Renown members of opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kogi state have announced their decisions to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The opposition leaders made this known during a meeting with member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon James Abiodun Faleke.
The meeting which in attendance the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of APC, Hon. Durosinmi Meseko, welcomed the opposition leaders from Yagba federal constituency of Kogi state.
The defectors included a former member of House of Representatives, Hon. TJ Faniyi; a former Chairman of Yagba East LGA, Hon Salawudeen Ganiyu (Erukutu); Hon. Ojuola; Former House of Assembly member, Commodore Foluso Daniel (rtd); 2015 APC House of Reps candidate, Engr Kayode Adegbayo (Olomo); Hon. Ibrahim Taiwo; Maiyegun of Isanlu and ADC powerhouse, Chief Dare Maiyegun and Tunde Agbana, a former Kogi State PDP Assistant Treasurer.
Their decision to join the APC is seen as a significant boost to the party’s chances in the state, particularly in the Yagba Federal Constituency.
Faleke, while welcoming the new members, expressed his delight at their decision to join the APC.
“I am thrilled to welcome these distinguished individuals into our party fold.
“Their decision to leave the PDP, ADC and join us is a testament to the APC’s commitment to good governance, development, and the well-being of the people of Kogi State. We are proud to have them on board and look forward to working together to build a brighter future for our state. Their wealth of experience and expertise will undoubtedly be an asset to our party, and we are excited to have them as part of our team,” Faleke said.
The group will soon be presented to the Kogi State Governor in a ceremony marking their official entry into the APC.
