President of the Ogbonicha Ward Vanguard, a top socio-political organisation of the people of Ofu Local Government of Kogi State, Chief Abubakar Agene has expressed optimism that the newly inaugurated Minister of Steel Development in Nigeria, Hon. Shuaibu Audu would restore the Nigerian moribund steel plants.
Agene made this known while addressing newsmen in Abuja.
He stated that “Lion begets Lion”, expressing confidence that Hon. Shuaibu would work in the capacity of his late father, Prince Abubakar Audu to resuscitate the Ajaokuta Steel Company and other steel plants across the country.
Speaking also, one of the members of the group, Mr Abel Adah Anyebe, equally affirmed the capacity of the newly inaugurated Minister.
Anyebe, a versed business analyst who bagged an MBA in International Business Management and a Fellow of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA). He is also an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACTI) with a unique interest in auditing and fiscal policy implementations, stressed the need to diversify the Nigerian oil mono-economy where production could equate consumption through steel development.
He further said if the production process could commence in the steel Industry, the problem of unemployment in Nigeria would become a thing of the past, adding that the Nigerian Gross Domestic Product (GDP) would tremendously improve.
Admiring the profile of the newly inaugurated Minister, he said Shuaibu’s appointment was putting a round peg in a round hole.
He appreciated the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment of Alh. Shuaibu Audu as the Minister of Steel Development.
