Dr. Yakasai, who is Director general of TSG, made this known when he played host to a former Deputy Governor of Edo State and Director General of the Nigeria Institute for Sports (NIS), Comrade Philip Shuaibu, at the support group secretariat in Abuja.
A statement issued by the Secretary General, Tinubu Renaissance Group, Francis Henry Folaranmi, said the meeting signaled the beginning of a new era of collaboration between the TSG and the Nigeria Institute of Sport (NIS).
Dr. Yakasai noted that as the President’s Renewal Agenda continues to gain momentum, the TSG is gearing up to play a vital role in shaping a strategic grassroots mobilization drive.

The meeting also advanced discussions in preparing the various support groups for the 2027 project of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Recalling their shared experiences in the students’ union movement, Dr. Yakasai reminded Comrade Shuaibu that their struggles prepared them for the current task and future responsibilities. He added that by supporting the various groups, they would be motivated to recommit themselves to the project ahead.

“The meeting highlighted the significance in empowering the various support groups, whose efforts have been instrumental in promoting the President’s agenda. By working together, the TSG and its NIS can leverage their expertise and resources to achieve tangible results and make a lasting impact on the President’s governance,” Dr. Yakasai said.
Comrade Shuaibu x-rayed his plans to revive the Nigeria Institute of Sport (NIS) which is a key aspect of the collaboration, with the potential to contribute significantly to the country’s sports development and national pride.
TSG’s support groups, according to Comrade Shuaibu will play a vital role in this endeavor, providing expertise and resources to help drive its resurgence.
Comrade Shuaibu assured that experts from various fields, including medical and health personnel, trainers, coaches, and sports enthusiasts from the support groups would be engaged to contribute to the NIS’s success.
