The Honorable Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr Oloruntoba Kehinde has commended the effort of the organisers of Apapo Okun Cultural Festival currently happening in Kabba town.
In a statement signed by his Aide, Dr Omotugba Tolu, he said that the timing of the event could not have been more auspicious than now as it is new in the pages of Okun history.
“The unity, social development and national recognition that will be entrenched as a backdrop of this event is one that will leave my people many years to reconcile with”, he said.
The program will serve as a platform to harmonise divergent interests, discuss ideas, debate issues, and proffer solutions to the many challenges confronting the region, he said.
While he may not be chanced to be physically present throughout the 5 days of the program for obvious official assignments, he has promised to be present for at least one of the day sessions.
He reiterated his commitment to support the festival to the best of his ability.
He also promised the continuous inclusion of the region by the Governor Yahaya Bello led administration in the New Direction Plan of Kogi State.
