Future Builder ” Radio host, Balogun noted during one of the recent series of the programmes on FM Station Egbe that although Olusanya hails from Egbe, the scope of the Foundation and target beficiaries of its humanitarian services extend beyond Egbe to other parts of Yagba West Local Government Area and Okunland. To butress his point, he recalled that the first edition of Yagba West Marathon Race held in December 2024 and sponsored by Firstmade Foundation attracted participants from both Egbe and other parts of Yagba noting that the second position winner emerged from Iya-Merin in the Area Council of Yagba West. He disclosed that the next marathon race coming up in December 2025 is designed to feature participants from across the five local councils in Okunland. He, however, does not foreclose the prospect of expansion of the sporting activities to other parts of Kogi state in the near future.

“Firstmade Foundation does not discriminate based on creed. Where you come from, your religion faith or background does not matter to Femi Olusanya. He believes we are all created equal before God. He believes only in your ability and performance; equity and justice; be you Christian or Muslim, be you from Egbe or any part of Yagba or Okunland or Nigeria. You don’t have to be connected or have any godfather. Recently, the founder, Olufemi Olusanya has supported some Mosques just as he does to churches”, Balogun said in a question and answer session during one of the programmes.

Noting that Firstmade Foundation has existed over the past 11 years, supporting the less privileged in terms of assisting parents in payments of school fees and providing foods and beverages for women and the aged, Balogun said activities of the Foundation has no political undertones.

Speaking further on this year’s edition of the marathon race, the Foundation’s spokesman disclosed that while last year’s edition was mixed-gender, the 2025 episode will witness separation between male and female competitors.

He said the sponsor, Femi Olusanya whose main intention is to showcase and promote talents in Okunland to the rest of the world, decided to domicile healthy sporting competitions in Okunland after staging similar events in other states, where he worked.

“This year’s edition which is to be tagged ‘Okun Marathon Race” promises to come with lots of improvement to the maiden edition held on December 24, 2024, because this year we’re going to have participants from Kabba to Egbe. We’re bringing in corporate bodies such as MTN, GLO and others. There will be prizes to be won, including cash prizes and education scholarships just as he did at last year’s edition. The sponsor will not stop there; this time around, he will ensure that spotted talents will be exposed to national and international competitions to enable Okun-born athletes make names for themselves, their families, Okunland, Kogi State and country. This is Femi Olusanya’s vision. Everybody is a political animal but you will agree with me that this goes beyond our everyday politics.”
