Our attention has been drawn to a recent statement credited to Alhaji Yakubu Murtala Ajaka, wherein he made several unfounded and malicious claims against the former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

It is rather unfortunate that a man who has consistently failed to demonstrate political maturity and credibility now seeks cheap relevance through baseless attacks on a leader whose achievements and loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) remain unquestionable.

For the records, Alhaji Yahaya Bello’s legacy in Kogi State speaks for itself — from unprecedented infrastructural development, youth and women empowerment, improved security, to the unity and stability of the state. No amount of propaganda can erase these visible accomplishments.

Contrary to Ajaka’s misleading assertions, His Excellency Yahaya Bello remains a respected figure within the APC and a trusted ally of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. His commitment to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda is unwavering and rooted in genuine performance, not intimidation or deceit.

Murtala Ajaka, who could not even win his polling unit in the last governorship election, lacks the moral and political standing to lecture anyone on credibility or performance. His endless bitterness since his defeat only exposes his desperation for attention.

We therefore advise Ajaka to focus on rebuilding his lost political base rather than attempting to malign a man whose record of service continues to speak volumes.

Kogi State has moved beyond petty politics of envy and propaganda. The people are wiser and fully aware of those who truly worked for their progress.
