Opposition is one of the most challenging side of modern politics, it is even more challenging when you are taking such political stand from the red points of such political positions, but be that as it may some of us have refuse to shift grounds not only because we believe so much in our party the PDP, but because the ideas we preach are the most suitable for the better and the new Nigeria we all desire.

But in the last few weeks our loyalty for our beloved party was put to test through its acclaimed inability to conduct a primary election for Kogi East senatorial seat and it’s approval of an automatic ticket for an aspirant in this constituency, as unhealthy and as undemocratic as this decisions has remained, we have also remain glued to this party and not allowing our concerns interfere with the present positions of the party.

But be that as it may, we will not refuse to recognise the threats that this unjustifiable decision has posed for our party the PDP in Kogi East.

Neither are we going to pretend to the fact that this threats are not empty and can never be managed.

As a party we must understand that the PDP in Kogi east was virtually sinking before the advent of Dr Victor Alewo Adoji, it was through his resolutions to contest on the party’s platform that reinstate the party in the constituency, it was through his submission that most of the aggrieved members of the party shield  their swords and gave room for dialogue and even peace.

A lot of our party faithfuls, who left the party for years equally accepted to come back to the party and affiliate with him and us, which indeed was a boast to the party at the constituency and even the state at large.

Other party faithfuls including the ruling party (APC) were not only giving Dr Victor Alewo Adoji their support, some of them were already decamping and throwing their heavy support publicly behind the aspirant.

Those who had so many ugly views about our party, were beginning to see the party in a newer and positive view, which with time would ave been a reason to support our party.

But all this were tempered with the moment the party denied the constituency of an open primary elections, all this has been destroyed the moment the party allowed certain members to hijack the party ticket and automatically hand it over to an aspirant with out prior notice and any form of agreement with the other aspirants.

Thus the questions begging for answers now becomes?

On what ground was Sen. Attai Aidoko giving the acclaimed automatic  ticket? Was it for his past achievements or his contributions to the party, or on an agreement between the party and other aspirants?

Is it permitted by the political act reform law that an aspirant should be giving an automatic ticket even when there are other aspirants?

Are the processes engaged before the automatic ticket was issued out, recognized in the constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party?

What then happens to aspirants who were wrongly denied of primaries?

What are the implications of such denial to the party and to the nation?

What impression are we leaving in the minds of other party members who decamped and joined the PDP because of the certain aspirants who were denied primaries?

What impression is the party creating in the minds of the electorates by denying certain aspirants the right to primary elections and issuing automatic ticket against and without the consent of the party members?

Other questions making the rounds includes;

Between Sen. Attai Aidoko, who has represented the constituency for seven years and has nothing to show for it in the constituency and even at the party level, and Dr Victor Alewo Adoji who has been able to pull crowds back to the party in just a mini declaration rally who should be giving an automatic ticket?

The party members all claimed they never endorsed Sen Attai Aidoko for an automatic ticket, so who gave him the ticket and who approved it?

The members of the constituency have openly come out to renounce any form of support for Sen Attai Aidoko,so the question who then will vote for him during the general elections?

The youths have been protesting against the refusal to conduct primary elections by the party and are strongly against the issuing of the ticket to Sen Atayi Aidoko, will such youths be willing to rally round this same aspirant when the general campaign begins?

Rumours has it that the automatic ticket was issued out on Saraki and Secondus approval and the question becomes if they two of them will be only ones voting during the general elections?

Dr Victor Alewo Adoji the people’s choice has moved with a large crowd of our party faithfuls to another party on the advice of the people, the question is if he wins the election which he is obviously going to win – what then becomes the fate of our part in this constituency?

These and many questions are the contentions and questions that has been begging for answers.

All this would have been averted if the supposed PDP primary elections in Kogi East was held.

The calculations was poorly done and only God  knows what will become the fate of the PDP in Kogi east after the senatorial elections.
