Kogi Police ehh! They deserve an Oscar.
Last year Dino claimed an assassination attempt. He advertised a bullet ridden vehicle. He had a noisy thanksgiving on instagram and in church.
Kogi police moved in with ecstasy. And arrested some of his opponents. They were supposed to be the masterminds of the assassination attempt. They were humiliated, detained. Dino thumped his chest and boasted of his weight.
Then the Kogi governor upped the game.
He made a ridiculous counter move. His lieutenants were in police cell, they were granted bail. Dino’s recall gathered frantic pace. A game changing audio recording surfaced.
The clip had someone bragging and squealing. He had arranged the whole assassination thing. The police believed it was Dino. They moved with informed speed. He was charged for giving police false information. The game had flipped. Dino was now the prey.
Dino came to court with drama and foolery. He must know Kogi Police too well . After all they were once on his side. But the drama was ready for a stunning twist. A twist that left more room for sleeplessness than toothbrush and toilet rolls.
Kogi police had arrested some armed robbers. Two of them were paraded and their confessions broadcasted. Dino, they said , had hired them to work for him. He had given them money and a gun. And one was even named Osama.
The Kogi Police was in the thick of new things.
They invited Dino for investigation . He casually disregarded them. Dino was too smart to walk into an undisguised booby trap. Rather than honor the police invitation he went to the chambers of the senate to render copious lamentations and theatrics about witch hunting.
While Dino was hinting of his immortality in abuja , the drama in Kogi caught dengue fever.
The Kogi police woke up and discovered that doors of its cells had been broken while it slept. The criminal suspects they paraded had escaped from detention. They had escaped on the eve of their widely publicized arraignment in court. They had been charged alongside the elusive but loquacious Dino.
But put nothing beyond the Kogi Police.
They switched into an overdrive. They declared Dino Melaye wanted. They instigated Interpol red notices against Dino and the fleeing detainees. They told the whole world to help them catch Dino wherever they found him. Dino was supposed to be a fugitive of the law.
Abuja Police had seen enough from the sidelines. They stepped in. They didnt go for Dino whom Kogi wanted and whom they had in their palms. They wanted a role in the Kogi drama. The Kogi CP was removed . Or pushed aside, it now seems. A manhunt for the escapees was launched . The six fleeing men were retrieved.
They have re possessed their men and become suspiciously mute
Abuja and Kogi polices have since re arresting these men developed severe mumps. They wont let us hear who assisted the men to break away from detention. Dino who had threatened the Police with brimstone if they didnt find the men has been mute. Since the men were rearrested Dino hasn’t released any video clip? And that has been, 7 whole days!
Seven whole days!!!
But the drama is unending. Dino is still wanted by the Kogi police. We were told to grab him for them wherever we came upon him and get something in return. They haven’t told us to stop.
Dino traveled to Kogi in the company of the senate president last weekend. They were received on arrival by the Kogi police. The Kogi police gave them protection all through the visit and saw them off when the visit ended. The Kogi police forgot to look at their wanted men’s list.
While Dino was around the governor and his men didnt scream. They didnt jump in and help the police effect the arrest of a wanted man. They missed a great opportunity. Had anyone grabbed Dino the Police would have been in a naked dilemma.
But since its Kogi police they would find away around it. Put nothing beyond them.
