The success or failure of any state government is seen and measured abi initio at the grassroots levels.
Specifically, all government programmes, projects and services are provided, managed and/or utilized in the rural dwelling areas of the electorates. What reaches to them or does not, would to a large extent depends on the caliber and pedigree of the appointees or elected officials at the Local Government Councils in the state. When round pegs are allowed in square holes and vice versa then, nothing meaningful or significant manifest, which leads to rot, maladministration and ineptitude.
In Kogi State of present, we must and can get it right, when as a people, well articulate, focused, educated, matured, visionary and proactive manager of men and resources gets the mandate and opportunity by popular demand, to pilot the affairs of the Local Government Councils in the state.
Yes, community popularity and acceptance is good but better still, ability, capacity, honesty, and resilience is a combination of best ingredients needed in our forecasted choices for the LGA Executive Chairman.
