Much has been in the news about the controversial deputy governor elect of Kogi state, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke; the latest being the alleged threat to his life by Yahaya Bello’s camp. This I can say is a mere figment of his own impaired psyche. He’s just being delusional in the persecutory dimension for the sole aim of attracting public pity.
Unfortunately, this is an old cheap tactic that, for lack of effectiveness, has long been abandoned by serious minded people. The character assassination game seem like the last resort of a desperately power hungry man who has drastically lost popularity, even among his kinsmen.
It’s quite understandable that he may have fallen short of the requisite toughness to absorb the unimaginable mental stress he has been through recently. After the failure to assume his default ambition of replacing Prince Abubakar Audu, he has since acquired the new habit of making threat statements against APC (a party he claimed to respect it’s supremacy) and Yahaya Bello. He(Faleke) allegedly sponsored thugs to attack Bello at APC national secretariat during his nomination to fill the vacuum created by the death of Abubakar Audu. For such a man to now start playing the victim is both laughable and preposterous.
In Kogi state, we have our differences; that’s undeniable – but we have always live together all along in the spite of it.
The murky waters of our state politics is also a safe haven for those with political ingenuity. We’re not known for political assassinations. Our politics is not a battle of the sword or the barrels of the gun as bro Faleke presumes, rather it’s that of intelligence. He needs to rise above the baseline of pettiness and envy and queue into the NEW DIRECTION agenda.
The good thing about Yahaya Bello’s victory is that he(Bello) sees it as an act of God and a victory for all Kogites irrespective of ethnic, religious or political affiliations. He’s a simple young man with a large heart of gold – too business minded than to be involved in the heinous activities of the small minds. Bello is a man of peace who have explored every possible avenues to broker peace among all aggrieved factions about his nomination and victory at the polls. What is left is for Faleke to repent from all his evil plans and give peace a chance.
I urge bro Faleke to cure himself of hatred, accept Bello’s hands of fellowship and join the moving train as we sojourn to the abundant socio-economic prosperity of our beloved state in the incoming administration. This is a project by all and for all. Rather than fabricating defamatory and unfounded allegations, he should be seen to contribute his quota in moving the state forward if he so love Kogi state like he claims. If this is impossible for him, he should please leave us in peace and stop fomenting trouble in a state he really has nothing to stake.
