The Chairman Committee on Works and member representing Ijumu constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly, Honourable Victor Ade Omofaiye, yesterday led the members of the Committee to the newly awarded roads linking Ankpa-Abejukolo down to Bassa in Kogi East on an inspection tour.
Omofaiye assured the people of Ankpa Local Government Area that the House Committee on Works would ensure that funds are made readily available for rehabilitation of Ankpa – Ejema – Omala road since it was captured in the 2016 state budget.
He gave the assurance while addressing the good people of Ankpa who came out to welcome the House committee.
He said the House is poised in bring dividends of democracy to all Kogites through motions, bills and oversight functions.
While addressing the people of Enabo, also in Ankpa LGA, Hon. Omofaiye said the only recognised party that bind all the members of the Kogi State House Of Assembly is “Good Governance Party”
He however called on the people of Ankpa to be peaceful and cooperate with the contractors that will be handling the road project.
At Oguma, the headquarters of Bassa Local Government, where the committee inspected Sheira Oguma bridge, Omofaiye expressed his appreciation to the Governor of the State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for releasing funds to the contractor handling the project. He, however, appealed to the Governor to release more funds for the completion of the road considering it economic importance to the people of Bassa and Kogi State at large.
