The Nigerian Post Newspaper has emerged the “Online Newsblog of The Year”, in Nigeria
The award was officially presented to the Publisher Editor in Chief, The Nigerian Post Newspaper, Mr. Abu Micheal at the 4th Nigeria Service Awards, 2024.
Making the presentation in Abuja,
Amb. Akhimien Cletus, Principal Coordinating Executive, Nigeria Service Awards said the award is in
recognition of The Nigerian Post’s outstanding performance as an exceptional digital news platform in the dissemination of accurate, timely, and impactful information.
He lauded the news medium for leveraging
innovative technology to reach a large audience and shape public discourse.
“The Nigerian Post is today receiving the highest honours for service to the nation in the dessimination of information nationwide. You ranked number one according to nomination and votes sent by the general public and the findings done by our panel of jury in your category”.
“The Nigerian Post has established itself as one of the leading online news sources, known for its
comprehensive coverage of national and local events”.
“It user-friendly website and mobile
app have significantly increased accessibility to quality journalism across Nigeria”.
“The
platform’s commitment to investigative reporting has led to several high-impact stories,
influencing public opinion positively and far-reaching contributions to fostering progress in
the affairs of critical significance of Nigeria at large”.
The Nigeria Service Awards was initiated to honour and recognize remarkable individuals,
groups and institutions whose actions have greatly impacted the society positively, helped shape
their immediate society and continues to inspire Nationally in the year under review.
The 4th edition of the Nigerian Service Awards is themed: “Leveraging Diversity for National Growth” held at the Main Event, Merit House Aguiyi, Ironsi Street, Maitama Abuja.
Major highlights of the Award Ceremony was the unveiling/launching of the
prestigious EMINENCE MAGAZINE that reflected the landmark achievements of Awardee
Citation of the Nigerian Post Newspaper.
The Nigerian Post Newspaper made it debut as a hardcopy newspaper, circulating the North Central States of Nigeria in 2006.
The Nigerian Post Newspaper that has became the toast of readers in Northern and other parts of Nigeria, is reputed for balance and unbiased news report.
With the advent of Technology, the Nigerian Post Newspaper transformed, having an online platform in 2016 that has presence in every home, cities in Nigeria and loved by personalities irrespective of status.
Presently reputed for breaking the news with precision, it is without mincing words that Nigerians now described the Nigerian Post Newspaper Online as as a friendly online blog base on it accuracy and timelines, when juxtaposed with it per second and reliable reportage.
In 2020, the Nigerian Post Newspaper won and bagged the Overall Nigerian Newspaper of the Year award. The award was presented by the Advocacy for Youths Leadership.
In 2021, the Nigerian Post became the Arewa Newspaper of the year, an award for online blogs in Northern Nigeria.
In 2022, the Nigerian Post Newspaper won the overall best in Nigeria Online Newspaper award Organised by Stewardship Magazine in Nigeria.
It is important to State that the man behind the mask, Abu Oshiomieh Micheal, worked as Chief Press Secretary, to former Kogi State Deputy Governor, Arch. Yomi Awoniyi, between 2012-2016.
Abu Michael cut his teeth working as a reporter, News Editor, Political Editor with the Sunrise Newspaper, other National newspapers at different times, a feat that spanned over two decades before opting for a private practice with the Nigerian Post Newspaper in 2006.
Abu Michael, holds a Masters in Public Administration from the National Open University, A Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, he had academic stints at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka; Abuja School of Accountancy, Bwari, Federal Polytechnic Idah, is an old boy of Mount Saint Gabriel Secondary School, Makurdi, the set of 87, had his FSLC at Saint Theresa’s Primary School, Makurdi.
A man who is widely travelled, a political analyst, public and motivational speaker, Abu Micheal, born over five decades ago is an unassuming personality with nack for excellence.
