The Leprosy Mission Nigeria Pledge More Support for Persons With Disabilities in Kogi State

The Leprosy Mission Nigeria (TLMN) has pledged continued support for person with disabilities in Kogi state.

Director of The Leprosy Mission Sweden, Mr John Baeckrad, who was on working visit to Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, on Tuesday said TLM Sweden’s main focus is persons living with leprosy but had to extend its programmes to cover all persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the state.

He added that The Leprosy Mission Sweden is equally working out other packages that will make life better for persons with disabilities.

Mr Pius Ogbu Sunday, Head of Program, The Leprosy Mission Nigeria, said TLMN has spent and still ready to spend on persons with disabilities.

Mr Pius, who represented the Country Director, tasked beneficiaries of The Leprosy Mission Nigeria’s empowerment  programs to extend the goodwill to others outside Lokoja.

Praise Tefken, representing The Leprosy Mission Norway, commended persons with disabilities in Kogi State for their organization, stressing that it has contributed to TLM success story in the state.

Glenn Larsen, Board Chairman, The Leprosy Mission Norway, urged persons with disabilities in Kogi state to make better use of the skills acquired.

Chairman of persons with leprosy in Kogi State, Alhaji Bello Jibril, called for more support in education and infrastructure development.

Other beneficiaries of The Leprosy Mission Nigeria in Kogi state expressed gratitude to TLM for their support and asked for more assistance.
