Nigerians are currently agitated and earnestly await the next chance to get a permanent voter card (PVC). As the population of Nigerians continues to increase, there’s need for continuous voters registration.

During the last exercise, before the last presidential and states elections, many people could not get the PVC due to one reason or another; some lost their own, others got damaged, others couldn’t made a successful transfer of their cards to where they wish to use it due to short notice from the Independent National Electoral Commission and the slow movement of INEC officials in charge of registration centres. They are lot of complaints out there on the need to continue the process of registering people who are due for the exercise, which the conditions include that one must be a Nigerian, must be eighteen (18+) and must reside in Nigeria. Some people have done the registration already but could not participate in the last election because they could not get their cards transferred in time.

Now, that opportunity has come and I am calling on all the good people of Kogi state and Nigeria, people from the West, East and Central respectively, to give ears gear up and do the needful at the right time.

I to personally appeal to the good of Kogi East senatorial district to wake up and ensure they participate in the process. Most especially, some of the our children who were not up 18 years of age as at the last exercise, those whose cards got lost, damaged or needed to transfer them to act fast as the time is here again. Don’t wait till rushing hours.

You don’t have any reason to give excuses not to do the right thing now. Before you start complaining of bad government, bad representation at the national and state assemblies and the rest, you must play your own role first by making sure that you are registered and your PVC is handed over to you.

It is one thing to be registered, it is another thing to protect your card and come out during the election to cast your vote for the candidate of your choice. Don’t be part of people that stay at home and be the first to complain when a wrong choice of leader emerge thereafter.

As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set to commence the continuous voters registration (CVR) nation wide beginning from June 28 2021, make sure you come out, mobilize people, sponsor your community – especially those who may be far from the registration center across the country and states and can not afford the cost of transportation to the registration centers. Give them every necessary support to ensure we come out in our numbers and be registered for the exercise.

On this note, I am calling on every Igala elites who love and want the best for Aneigala to support our various communities and villages the best way we can to ensure that the qualified people get registered.
