It is asserted that “saying nothing and doing nothing in the face of oppression is to die in nothingness”. It is in line with the above assertion that I put forward this short piece as an advice and challenges to my fellow Nigerians to as a matter of urgent need reawaken our consciousness and see the need to re orientate ourselves on salient issues that affect us as an individual and as nation at large.

It is of no doubt that we are at the expansionary status of the political system in our country, a time marked with a heavy and series of political activities all aiming at electing a new set of leaders to pilot the affairs of the state. As a lover of justice, fairness, social welfare and a democrat, I found it so imperative and fundamental for me to call on all Nigerian, precisely the electorate to take a revolutionary step in electing whosoever that will govern the state at all levels of government come 2019.

Having examine the present economic bastardization, political mess and series of social ills surrounding the management of our country by the present crops of leaders we entrusted our mandate, I stands to say without remorse that none of our past and present leaders deserve and worth to be on the corridor of power. However the need for us to change the existing order in Nigeria politics.

It is quite unfortunate that a blessed nation like ours could not cater for the basic needs of the citizens, ironically resources has assume a curse rather than been a blessing to the country due to the abysmal corruption and mismanagement on the part of our leaders.

We are now living in a country where light is sold to other countries yet its citizens lives in darkness, a country where the law makers are the same that breaks laws, a country where health and educational tourism is prioritise at the expense of domestic health development, a country where politicians kill innocent citizens for ritual just for power, Nigeria is a country where politicians have in their pockets what the entire nation need for survival, a country where poverty built its administrative headquarter in the world, a country where politics has assume the most lucrative business, a country where the domestic currency is so bulky that foreign currency is now used at election, Nigeria is a country where criticism is a crime.

Nigerians had suffered and endure enough, Hence the need to reclaim our dignity of human person. We have continued to live in drought every season of governance, for how long do we continue to endure? . Shall we continue to a praise the masterminder of our wasted years?, must we continue to recycle the same set of people to rule over us.

If these contradicts your beliefs and aspiration as a patriotic Nigerian, why must we not join hands for better society where poverty and illiteracy will be reduced to the bearest minimum if not totally eradicated, a society where basic amenities will be taken as responsibility and not an achievement of the government.

If we must achieve our desired just and egalitarian society, we must take the bull by the horn by voting wisely, a vote devoid of primordial sentiments of religion, ethic differences and party affiliations. Vote credibility, vote accessibility and accountability, vote personality and not party. The battle to salvage our Father’s land from the hands of the political vampires called leaders demands a revolutionary approach devoid of ammunition, which could easily be achieved through the ballot.

Conclusively, if we the poor masses in Nigeria must save ourselves from the present economic, political and social woes that befall us. If oppression and intimidation must stop in Nigeria, if we must move from been a rich -poor country, then we must take a revolutionary step at electing people of pedigree and quality charisma to public offices in the coming election. Our destiny and that of our unborn generation is in our hands to make or mar. Think wise Nigerian.
