Knowing Austin Okai fully well and his stand against the Kogi state government, I was completely sad when I heard the news that Okai was arrested in Abuja, but what gave me pleasure was that the police who arrested him brought him all the way down to Lokaja. Hmmmmm, we dont need a soothsayer to tell us the masterminder of this arrest. Who could that be? Yahaya Bello and his government of cause. Interesting! Another show of his irresponsible government.
I don’t need to ask myself or anybody as to why Comr. Okai was arrested, because IĀ know the government we have in Kogi state abhors criticisms and would be ready to go extra miles to silence any forms of criticisms by anybody towards it and policies.
I find it difficult to imagine how a government that is faced with so much challenges would be interested on closing the mouth of oppositions. Does Yahaya Bello and his men need us to remained them that all state own higher institutions are on strike? Are they so much consumed by the enjoyment of power and wealth of the state to the extent of forgetting that the civil servants are yet to be paid? So why the hell would such government resists opposition?
I always said and keep saying it that this government is characterized by irresponsible, and uneducated partisan politicians, I wonder the kind of advisers and the kind of advice they give to the governor. It sounds funny and embarrassing how a government official under Bello government wound come out to defend Bello and deny the government having hand in Comr. Okai’s arrest, claiming Bello dosn’t know Austin Okai and his so called activities of criticism on Monday and on Tuesday that same government who was said not to have hand in the arrest took Okai to court. Why was he taking the court? Because Comr. Austin Okai is inciting the youths against Yahaya Bello and his government AAAHHH! MY HEAD DON SCATTER! Who are they fouling? To further show us how irresponsible and illiterate they are, they took Okai to court but when it comes to bailing, they realised and argued that the court doesn’t having jurisdiction for hearing the case therefore, it can’t bail. How could you accuse someone take him to a court which you know perfectly that it doesn’t have jurisdiction to hear your case? Shame on them.
Bello and his men should know that the youths of Kogi state doesn’t need Austin Okai to incite them against the government, the strike which has kept them at home for over four months is enough to incite the youths against the government. The never ending screening and unpaid civil servants salary is enough to incite the youths against the government, so I appeal to Bello to release Okai unconditionally and drop those worthless charges against him. Bello should better find ways of solving the problems he has created in the state rather than running after critiques all about and trying to silence them. That wouldn’t work because the more he tries to close our mouths, the more energetic and strong we will become. nobody is afraid of his arrest.
God bless and strengthen Comrade Usman Austin Okai, the voice of the voiceless,
God bless Kogi state. AMMMMEEEN
