Tax Default: Kogi Revenue Service Seals Globacom Offices

Following an enrollment order dated 19 July, 2018 issued by Justice Otu of the Kogi State High Court, Lokoja, the state internally generated revenue service (KIGRS) has sealed five premises of mobile telecommunication firm, Globalcom.
Officials of the state revenue office sealed four Globacom premises in Lokoja, including the company’s head office, and one in Okene on Wednesday.
Justice Otu’s enrollment order followed a motion ex-parte dated 11 July, 2018 for the granting of leave of warrant of restraint on the premises.
The KIGRS team led by the Director, Enforcement and Legal Services, Isa Jamil Abdullahi, were assisted by a detachment of police officers and some personnel of the Nigeria Civil Defense and Security Corps (NSDSC).
“We are here to restrain five of their premises identified within Lokoja”, said Abdullahi.
He confirmed that the total unremitted tax default  stood at over N20 million.
