The Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals, Arc. Ahmed Abdulmumeen Okara on Tuesday pledged to support the development strides of the ‘Gov Yahaya Bello Talent Hunt Team’ led by the Senior Special Assistant on Entertainments, Arts and Culture, Mercy Johnson Okojie.
The team was on a courtesy visit to the SDGs boss in office after successfully pulling-off a talent hunt for actors and actresses across five key districts of the state.
The veteran actress in her address, intimated Okara on her strides in projecting Kogi State to the world through the entertainment industry.
She also revealed that the team would shoot “Inikpi,” the first ever a Kogi state government movie project, adding that the talent hunt was a step towards ensuring that the casts are all from the state.
“We do not want a situation where we would have to shop for people from outside, therefore, we are going to shoot our own movie, by our own people, and for Kogi state,” she stated.
Arc Okara elated who was elated to meet veterans in the movie industry such as Francis Duru, John Okafor and Frank Rajah, pledged to be at the beck and call of the actress.
“Wherever this entertainment movement wants to go, count on SDGs for your support. We did not bring you to fail, which is why we will support you to succeed,” he said.
Earlier speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Francis Duru expressed appreciation to the state for the support given to Mercy Johnson, and the warm reception accorded them while acting as judges in the talent hunt.
