Members of Yagba East People’s Democratic Party have been tasked to once again take their rightful place in the political setting of the state by winning overwhelmingly for the party in the forth coming State House of Assembly poll.
Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi gave the charge to party members and people of the area at a meeting with party faithful,and other interest groups at the weekend, geared towards galvanizing the people to victory in the forth coming State Assembly election in Isanlu.
Awoniyi described Yagba East as an area that has over the years led in electoral victory for the party, commended the people for the peaceful manner they conducted themselves at the Presidential and National Assembly poll.
Awoniyi urged the people to see the next Saturday’s election as an opportunity to prove critics wrong that the area is a PDP stronghold, disclosing that with the renewed resolve and vigour shown by the people of the area, he is optimistic that the PDP will emerge victorious.
Awoniyi described the candidate of the PDP, Omiata Musa, as one to beat, says he has what it takes to offer quality representation if elected, urged the people to rise above personal differences and triumph in the state assembly polls.
While the present administration has moved to address the issues of concern affecting the people as pointed out at the meeting, Awoniyi urged the people to be united and to ensure the deliver in the Saturday’s poll to enable government fulfill its mandate to the people.
The Deputy Governor said that government is not unaware of the challenges faced by the councils across the state, as occasioned by dwindling resources, said efforts to tackle the issues that is of concern is now been looked into, with a view to cushion the plight faced by the people.
Awoniyi commended the people of Yagba East for their support for the Capt Wada administration, said the governor despite noticed challenges, will not waiver in his determination to transform the state.
