A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Khalifa Abdulrahaman Okene has congratulated Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on his victory at the Supreme Court affirming his election as Governor of Kogi State.
Ododo floored the candidates of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and Action Alliance (AA) in a unanimous judgment by the apex court which upheld the decision of the Court of Appeal.
In his message of felicitation on Saturday, Abdulrahaman Okene urged the Governor to drive his legacy in governance, noting that the Supreme judgment has ended distractions.
He further advised Governor Ododo to place priority on uniting the people of the state, tackling food inflation and securing lives and properties.
He said, “Friday was the end of a game, and the beginning of another that will drive your legacy in governance. So far, you have started well, and your performance speaks for itself especially in catering to the welfare of the labour force.
“I urge you, His Excellency, to unite the people, beginning from extending the olive branch to every relevant stakeholder to bring about the needed change in the state. The distraction is over; now it is time to face the job squarely with everyone aboard your ship to weather the storm collectively.
“We trust that you can do more in creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, reducing food inflation and securing the state to open doors for investment and employment opportunities.
“On our part, we will continue to pray for you, and contribute our quota toward endeavors that seek to put Kogi on progressive paths.”
