A former governorship aspirant in Kogi State, Comrade Sunday Bala Oma and member of the House of Representatives (APC-Idah), Hon. David Zacharias, were among other eminent Nigerians honoured with Torchlight Africa Leadership awards.
In his welcome address, the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Torchlight Africa Magazine, Agboni Ephraim Ojonugwa, said the magazine is a Pan-African media publication dedicated to showcasing and celebrating inspiring leaders, innovators and change makers across the continent.
He praised the awardees for impacting lives and changing communities over the years, through their advocacy and development strides, which necessitated the board to nominate and confer the leadership award on them.
Speaking at the award ceremony held in Abuja on Saturday, one of the award recipients, Comrade Sunday Bala Oma, who was represented by the Country Director of the Sunday Bala Oma Foundation, Mr Danjuma Alfa thanked the organizers for finding him worthy of such prestigious award.
He dedicated the award to God Almighty, who gave the enablement to embark on any meaningful contribution to impacting the lives of Africans.
He also thanked the Sunday Bala Oma Foundation Team, who have contributed selflessly over the years, that brought the internationally recognized NGO to where it is today.
Bala Oma concluded by admonishing Nigerians never to give up on the nation because “no matter the upheavals, we shall surely come out of the woods, thereby, making Nigeria to live up to the full meaning of her creed, by becoming a developed state and a trigger point for global transformation.”
