A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, Mr Emmanuel Abalaka, has filed a motion before the Federal High Court, Abuja praying the court to restrain Idris Wada from parading as a member of the PDP and its governorship candidate.

He told newsmen in Abuja that he also sought for the court order to restrain PDP or any agents from recognizing and sponsoring Wada as its candidate for governorship election scheduled for December 3, 2011.

“I submitted to the court that the action of the PDP in the nomination of the defendant violated the constitution of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),” Abalaka said.

He added that he prayed in his 19 paragraphs affidavit that the defendant was wrongfully nominated by the PDP to INEC as the governorship candidate of Kogi State and that the defendant was not a duly registered member of the party as at the date he was nominated.

“The principal members of Odu ward 1 have come out openly to denounce the defendant giving details of his forceful membership registration. The defendant also forged a membership card purportedly signed by the ward secretary of the said Odu ward sometime in 2005,” he said.
