A group, Igala Vanguard has vowed to resist plans to frame up two former senators of Kogi East; Yayaha Ugbane, Alex Kadiri by the APC-led Kogi government.

In a statement signed by Engineer Lawrence Akpa, Igala Vanguard said it has uncovered plans by the state government to plant guns in the residences of Ugbane and Kadiri in order to framee them up.

According to Akpa, the sins of the former senators is their decision to support the re-election bid of Governor Yahaya Bello.

The group warned Governor Bello and his deputy, Edward Onoja to stop harassing innocent people from Igala land.

Engineer Akpa cautioned the police authority to stop taking instructions from Kogi state government to carry out deadly activities on the people of the state.

“A serving senator from Dekina local government, a top government official and Auditor General for local government are responsible for the recent arrests. They have concluded plans to clamp down on prominent indigenes of Kogi East senatorial district under the supervision of Edward Onoja, the state Deputy Governor.

“There are plans to use the military operations that just started in the state to meddle into the political activities in the state, thereby denying PDP supporters from exercising their franchise on November 16.

“The ongoing cases of kidnap, arrest and abduction over thumped up charges are part of the arrangement to discourage the teeming PDP supporters from coming out to cast their votes in the coming election,” he said.

He warned the police not to continue with the current trend as any incidence of arrest and kidnap of prominent individuals from Igala land will be linked to them and the state government sponsored thugs.
