The socio-cultural group, Igala Vanguard, has told Idris Husseini Kassim, better known as Idris HK, to quit acting as a political spoiler and accept that his campaign against Muritala Ajaka is going nowhere.

In a statement signed by Engr. Lawrence Ankpa, the vanguard conceded that Idris has done some charity work through his foundation, but said his latest political stunts set off “red flags” that can’t be ignored.

The group accused Idris and his online crew of running a smear campaign designed to stir trouble in the district.

According to the statement, they have repeatedly insulted and falsely accused respected elders who have paid their dues in Kogi politics.

Akpa said Idrissima’s political record is a patchwork of flip-flops and zero grassroots ties.

“APC ADC. He claimed to be an APC member, then announced he was quitting for the ADC only for the APC to say they had no record of him.

“ADC PDP, He never bothered to meet ADC ward members before jumping ship to the PDP.

“Next stop – SDP. Rumour has it he’s already eyeing the SDP before next month.

“His main plan was to take down Muritala Ajaka, but Muri hasn’t even glanced his way.

“Instead of facing voters at home, he’s drafting press releases from Abuja beer parlours, never stepping foot in his own ward or LGA,” Akpa said.

The Vanguard believes Idris is being used to keep the Igala nation split.

“During the last governorship race, when most Igala people rallied behind one candidate, he backed a rival just to divide the votes. Now he wants to be on the ballot again simply to siphon support from any consensus Igala candidate who can stand up to the government’s anointed,” the statement said.

Akpa argued that these antics only weaken the opposition in Kogi East and serve the state government’s interests.

The group urged the Igala Cultural Development Association (ICDA) and Ukomu Igala to speak up and “call a spade a spade.”

“Stick to running Crunch Café. Stop muddying our politics. All he’s doing is shaving off opposition votes—he’s never come home to ask us what we want,” the statement added.
